Camilla is a PhD student in the Body, Eyes and Movement (BEAM) Lab, supervised by Drs Ellen Poliakoff and Emma Gowen.

She was awarded a Distinction for her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nottingham. Her Master’s research project investigated the impact of various object affordances on mu rhythm suppression recorded from the motor cortex using EEG. 

Following this, Camilla worked as a Research Assistant on the CogSoCoAGE project at the University of Kent, which investigated the cognitive basis of social communication across the lifespan. In this role, Camilla continued to use EEG methods to record mu rhythm suppression as an indication of physical and social pain perception, as well as mobile eye-tracking to explore naturalistic social eye-gaze patterns.

In the BEAM lab, Camilla’s PhD is focusing on the impact of action observation and motor imagery on movement in people with Parkinson’s, utilising online behavioural, as well as EEG methods.
