Carlo's research mainly focuses on Industrial Organization, Competition Policy and Regulation, Applied Microeconomics.
 
Recently he has been working in the following areas: 
 
1) pricing strategies: theory and applications to specific industries (mainly internet and the digital economy)
2) theory of product differentiation
 
and is interested in supervising students in these areas or in IO more in general.
 

Biography

Carlo is a Lecturer in Microeconomics and a member of the Manchester Economic Theory Research Area Group.

Carlo's main research interests are in Industrial Organization, the Economics of Digitisation, Competition Policy and Regulation. He uses a mixture of theoretical and empirical methods to study issues relating to digital platforms and the impact of data in the economy 

He completed his studies in Economics at the University of Bologna, Italy, and the University of York, UK. During and after his studies, he has taught at University of Bologna, York, Singapore Institute of Management and Manchester.
