Personal profile
Overview
I am visual and urban anthropologist with a research focus in spatial and housing justice movements, the anthropology of the built environment, and creative research methodologies. I am interested in home as a material, affective and financial site of struggle and investment. Anthropological filmmaking and film curation are an integral part of my practice.
I have a PhD in Visual Anthropology from Goldsmiths (University of London), in which I took the demolition of a modernist housing estate in London as my object of study. As part of my thesis, I produced the interactive documentary Living Room. I am currently a Research Associate on the High Rise Landscapes project, as part of which I am researching building remediation work in post-Grenfell London.
I previously held the post of Film Officer and Film Festival Manager and Director at the Royal Anthropological Institute (2015-2023). During my tenure I programmed 4 editions of the RAI Film Festival.
