Biography

I got the Bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering and Master degree of Management Science and Engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and was proactive in social activities and volunteering programs. With my interdisciplinary background and rich internship experience in consulting and venture capital industries back in China, I have been researching the innovative trajectories of SMEs in Chinese manufacturing sectors along with the take-off of China’s economy.

My research focuses on innovation strategies of SMEs in China's manufacturing sectors during the transition of China's economy from the manufacturing-based quantitative growth to the innovation-led qualitative development. In particular, four different manufacturing industries, including medical device, intelligent hardware, machinery and electrical equipment and the auto-parts, are selected based on two dimensions, market dynamics and technological level respectively. Distinct trajectories of the innovation development in SMEs in these sub-sectors will be demonstrated.
