Overview

Chris is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Dept. of Civil Engineering and Management at the University of Manchester. His research is centred on improving the resilience of agricultural production and water use to climate change impacts, specifically using a combination of crop-climate and machine learning models. Chris is also a developer of the open source crop model AquaCrop-OSPy, he has engaged with industry in application of the model's insights and is actively looking for further collaborations. Previously, Chris' research has focused on improving the resilience of rice production in India using machine learning during his PhD, and improving wheat yields in the UK, both as a MSc researcher at the John Innes Centre and as a wheat breeder for Limagrain.
