Biography

Chris Golding is a Lecturer in Innovation and Strategy at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK. Chris researches focuses on the role played by experienced and expressed emotion affects strategic decision-making, and the broader innovation and strategy processes of organizations. He has a particular interest in the paradoxical effects of emotion (i.e., under what conditions 'negative' emotions can be beneficial, and when 'positive' emotions may be harmful).

Prior to joining Alliance Manchester Business School, Chris received his PhD in Mangement from Durham University Business School in 2021, where he was an ESRC-sponsored student. His thesis examined how fear can affect the pursuit of novel technology in incumbent organizations.
