Personal profile

Overview

I work as a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry at the University of Manchester (UoM). I joined UoM in November 2022 after several years as a researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research 'Demokritos', the National University of Ireland Galway, the University of Chicago, the Italian Institute of Technology, and the University of Helsinki.

My research focuses on developing Smart (multi-functional) Nanomedicines and Drug Delivery Systems for Brain diseases like glioblastoma and ischemic stroke and studying their interactions with living cells and tissues. I am mostly interested in understanding how these interactions can be improved, resulting in enhanced targeting of specific tissues and crossing various body barriers like the blood-brain barrier.
