Personal profile

Overview

Claire R. Ford recently was awarded her PhD at the University of Manchester exploring the feasibility of Virtual Realith (VR) training in falls awareness in care homes. This was a translational research project, which involved a multi-phase process. This included an exploratory qualitative research phase,  a development phase with iCASE collaborators and VR company Sentireal, and a mixed methods feasibility study. All of which was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The feedback from both studies and the proof-of-concept delivered has assisted in being granted C4T funding for further VR development into a minimal viable prototype. Claire is now a Research Associate at the Univeristy of Manchester further developing this work.

She has an active interest in improving quality of care and communication between healthcare professionals and patients through the utilisation of digital health.
