The Chances of Freedom
The aim of my doctoral research is to explore certain metaphysical underpinnings of libertarian theories of free will and, in particular, to clarify the relation between objective probabilities and undetermined choices. This has led me, on the one hand, to study the nature of agential motivation and, on the other, to investigate the methapysics of emergence and the scope of the laws of nature.
The research is funded by the School of Social Sciences of the University of Manchester.
