After my bachelor's degree I joined a research and development company, working on systems engineering and human factors projects. I then trained in occupational psychology, followed by doctoral and postdoctoral research on patient safety. After further work in industry, I returned to full-time academic research in Manchester Pharmacy School and the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. When Manchester Pharmacy School became part of the School of Health Sciences in 2016 I took up a post there as Lecturer in Patient Safety.
My main research area is human factors and ergonomics in healthcare. My interest within this area is fairly broad, but I mostly look at:

I am the unit lead for PHAR30902 Healthcare Leadership (on the MPharm) and PHAR62230 Research Dissertation (on the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy), and contribute to other course units.
