Accepting PhD Students
Dereje holds a PhD in Development Finance from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Dereje has a broad research interest, mainly focused on finance and development outcomes. His past research examines different ways in which access to finance influences economic development, including analyses of decisions made by households, firms and banks. Dereje has an extensive expertise in applied econometrics, involving the application of quasi-experimental designs (instrumental variable estimation, and fixed-effects estimation) to large scale longitudinal and panel datasets).
Teaching: Risk management; Financing projects.
