Overview

Dianne is Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice, Programme Director for Independent Prescribing and MSc Clinical Pharmacy and Chair of the Division of Pharmacy and Optomtery Ethics Committee.

After 20 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist working in primary and secondary care in the UK and overseas, Dianne moved into academia as prescribing lead for the Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education (CPPE) and then to the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. She has a particular interest in prescribing, having worked as a prescriber in practice, held strategic/governance roles as Non-Medical Prescribing Lead in in the NHS, and taught prescribing at postgraduate level. She has been involved in the development of prescribing policy, education and practice at all levels and across non-medical professions. With the introduction of prescribing to the undergraduate curriculum, Dianne has expanded her interests from advanced practice into foundation and enhanced pharmacy practice. 

Dianne's role is predomninantly in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching, although she has a handful of publications that relate to clinical pharmacy and non-medical prescribing, and is involved in supervising undergraduate and post-graduate taught student research projects.
