My doctoral research project looks at the memory production and legacies of socialist sites of memory in Riga, Latvia. This project focuses on the removal of the Lenin monument in Riga, the subsequent afterlives of the monument, and the continued symbolic meanings of its site.
The project is supervised by Dr Ewa Ochman and Dr Olga Ulturgasheva.
The project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership) and the University of Manchester (the President’s Doctoral Scholar Award).
