Overview
Dr of International Development with a PhD in Development Policy & Management. Thesis "Rethinking Audiences: Representations of Africa and the Nigeria Diaspora"
Doctorate and research interests centre on audiences of international development and the politics of visual representations, with a particular focus on development and humanitarian representations of Africa (and communities therein) by NGOs, western news reporting and contemporary mainstream media. Broader interests include race and racialised representations, continental and diaspora African identities, postcolonial discourse and criticism of contemporary representations.
