Personal profile

Biography

I joined the University of Manchester as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Environmental Economics in August 2012. Before joining Manchester, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Wyoming, Department of Economics and Finance. I completed my PhD at the University of Nottingham in 2010 on the economic impact of environmental regulation.

My research interests are in applied environmental and energy economics.

I am currently working on a research project on the UK Community Energy Sector funded by the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC).

I welcome enquires from prospective PhD students and I teach on the MSc in Environmental Economics at the University of Manchester. 

Research interests

My research interests are in applied environmental and resource economics, with a focus on econometric analysis. Interests include but are not limited to:

  • linkages between globalisation (trade, foreign direct investment) and the environment (environmental regulation, environmental quality);
  • firm or industry performance (including innovation, productivity, resource use) and the environment;
  • energy markets, energy development, energy policy;
  • economics of industrial ecology.

I welcome enquiries from students interested in writing a PhD on any topic in applied environmental or resource economics.
