Personal profile

Overview

I am a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Economics at the University of Manchester. Before I joined Manchester in 2012, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Wyoming. I completed my PhD at the University of Nottingham in 2010 on the economic impact of environmental regulation.

My research interests are broadly in applied environmental and energy economics, and related interdisciplinary fields. I have engaged in various multi-institutional collaborations including with the World Bank, and my research has been funded by the UK Energy Research Centre (Financing Community Energy) and the ESRC.

Research interests

I specialise in applied environmental and energy economics. My main research interests include exploring the linkages between globalisation and the environment, the impact of climate change and weather shocks on the economy and behaviour, and energy development and energy policy. I have published my work (see Google Scholar profile) in the premier field journals for environmental economics, including Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, and Environmental and Resource Economics. I have also published articles in various prestigious interdisciplinary journals including Nature Energy.

I welcome enquiries from students interested in writing a PhD on any topic in applied environmental or resource economics.
