Overview

Dr Elisabeth Krull is a Lecturer in Innovation at Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on strategising and organising in pluralistic contexts, particularly how organisations and sectors respond to systemic risks such as pandemics and climate change.

A key strand of her work has examined the insurance industry’s response to pandemic-related disruption. As a named researcher on an ESRC-funded project, Eli contributed to the design and delivery of a multi-year programme that explored risk-sharing mechanisms for business interruption. She was actively involved in industry working groups with insurers, policymakers, and industry bodies and then co-led an industry-funded follow-on project that investigated practical solutions for pandemic risk financing.

Before joining academia full-time, Eli held corporate strategy roles in the New Zealand banking sector. This experience continues to inform her research and teaching, allowing her to connect academic insight with organisational realities. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Auckland and previously held positions at Bayes Business School (formely Cass), City, University of London; and the University of Auckland Business School, University of Auckland.
