Personal profile

Overview

I am a GP Partner in Levenshulme, Manchester, as well as a Clinical Senior Lecturer.

I work in the Community Based Medical Education (CBME) Team in the Division of Medical Education, and am Academic Lead for Community Placements. This includes oversight of all content and delivery in the community, as well as oversight of clinical placements and placement capacity.

I have a passion for widening participation and equality, diversity and inclusion. I am academic lead for widening participation and academic co lead for EDI.

During covid-19, I have been active in raising concerns for the ethnic minority population. I have created videos with my organisation askdoc.org.uk, in advising patients on measures to prevent transmission, in different languages. I am also part of a US-UK collaborative group, looking at the reasons why ethnic minority patients are more affected.

My research interests include EDI, health inequalities for ethnic minorities, and widening participation
