Personal profile
Overview
Enas is a lecturer in pharmaceutical science at the University of Manchester. She joined the university in August 2022. She has diverse experience in the field of pharmacy, having been a community pharmacist for several years. Enas moved to academia and held various teaching and research positions at Jordan University of Science and Technology and the University of Wolverhampton. She has teaching experience in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences, microbiology, and pharmacology.
Enas has expertise in solid dosage forms and considerable knowledge of polymers and other excipients used in dosage form formulations, drug delivery, and drug release kinetics. In addition to her pharmaceutics expertise, she has a good knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiology and has worked with bacteria, fungi, viruses, and amoebae.
Research interests
Enas's current research focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of antimicrobial polymeric biguanides to tackle resistant topical infections. The first stage is to investigate their mechanisms of action and structural activity relationships. Then, they will be formulated into different dosage forms including dermal, buccal, and ocular formulations. The research is applicable not only in medical contexts but also extends to potential industrial applications.
