Overview

Fanyi is a Research Associate in Health Economics at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on both trial-based and model-based economic evaluations to support healthcare decision-making and resource allocation.

Her work includes systematic reviews, modelling and regression analysis, with a particular interest in mental health.

Fanyi is currently contributing several projects, including NIHR-funded  evaluation of community pharmacy services under the NHS Pharmacy First scheme and PSRC-funded evaluation of suicide and self-harm prevention. She is committed to producing research that supports evidence-based and equitable healthcare policy.

Research interests

Fanyi has been awared the NIHR GM PSRC Career Development Award for 9 months starting from January 2026. She will be using the placement to prepare application for NIHR Fellowship on economic evaluation of suicide and self-harm prevention

Biography

Fanyi holds a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of York and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She was a member of the Novice Women team of the UoY Boat Club while she studied there and has been rowing since 2021.
