Personal profile

Overview

Director of the Dalton Cumbrian Facility, I am a world authority on physical and chemical processes occurring in heterogeneous (nanoscale) radiation systems, particularly those involving water at interfaces, using integrated computational modelling and automated experimental to this end. This approach which has enabled me to provide many breakthroughs including in supporting the world’s first radiation nano-dose enhancer to market and in understanding hydrogen-generation from water on PuO2 surfaces in storage cans. Current projects include developing new radiation chemistry modelling codes, agile manufacture of radiophamaceuticals, and ion-beam based vaccine manufacture.
