Biography

I have 15 years’ experience in education and development with a background in bio –health and public health informatics.  I currently lead on the education strategy and programmes at the national institute HDRUK with a specific interest and alignment to the Better Care Programme.

I have been responsible for training over 3,500 professionals from academia, industry (bio-pharma and technology) and the NHS. I have extensive experience with working with different stakeholders (in particular, the NHS) to deliver innovative, up-to-date and relevant education programmes for different audiences.  All of the programmes that have been developed follow skills requirement/gap analysis; business case (or bid) development; pedagogy consideration and full evaluation.

My role(s) at the University of Manchester have focussed on building an environment in which the current workforce can be up-skilled and continually professionally developed as well as nurturing the next generation of scientific professionals required to meet the demands of change in healthcare delivery.

I have championed the role of health data science/informatics educators and work towards creating a culture of delivering collaborative, mission-led educational programmes - 'team education'.
