Overview

I’m a historian of 20th century West Africa. Focusing on Ghana and Nigeria, my work attempts to expand and refine our understanding of the political lives of economic and statistical knowledge. In order to do this, I try to combine approaches and methods from intellectual history, political anthropology, and the sociology of science.

Before joining Manchester as a Presidential Fellow in Economic Cultures, I was research fellow at the Nantes Institute for Advanced Studies (2017-2018), and temporary lecturer in economic history at the University of Sussex (2014-2017).
