Overview

I am a researcher with expertise in evidence synthesis based in the Evaluation Theme of the Greater Manchester Applied Research Collaboration (ARC-GM). I am also an editor and methodologist with Cochrane Wounds. Previous work at the University of Manchester focused on high priority reviews in wound prevention and treatment.

Biography

Until joining the University of Manchester I was a researcher at the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York for over 10 years. Prior to that I taught biological psychology at the University of Durham, following a period as a research assistant while undertaking my PhD.

 

My collaborations

I am based in the Evaluation Theme of ARC-GM which is led by Professor Peter Bower and Professor Jo Dumville. I work closely with members of the theme, including Dr Chunhu Shi, but also provide support and collaboration to evidence synthesis work in other themes within ARC-GM.

Social responsibility

I have an interest in support for parents undergoing antenatal testing and experiencing complicated and complex pregnancies, including parents who experience termination of pregnancy for medical reasons. I am currently a member of the Maternal Fetal Adverse Events (MFAET) Steering Committee: Safety monitoring for pregnancy clinical trials. I was previously a trustee of Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC) (Registered charity No 1148653) http://www.arc-uk.org/ and a member of the public patient involvement group for the Guided Instrumentation Fetal Therapy and Surgery (GIFT-Surg) project based at UCL.
