Personal profile
Overview
I am a Research Associate working on the UKRI/ERC-funded GENERATE project, led by Prof. Saska Petrova. The five-year project focuses on examining energy precarities in the Western Balkans by adopting feminist perspectives.
My research explores issues of inequality and power dynamics with a particular focus on gender differences, highlighting the necessity of integrating such critical investigations into energy policy and governance. I have been working on several research projects in the UK, India and Africa focusing on women's empowerment, citizen co-benefit from energy demand reduction, relational approaches to retrofitting, and gendered analysis of socio-technical implications of energy transitions. I have been invited as a keynote speaker discussing gender and women's empowerment issues in Asia and gendered socio-technical aspects of energy transitions in India.
For my PhD fieldwork, I secured funds from various institutions and I was awarded the UKIERI Fellowship at the TATA Institute in Hyderabad. In addition to my PhD I have an MSc in environment and sustainable development from the University College London and I worked for different agencies within the fields of sustainability and international development in the UK and in India.
