I am a political geographer who studies human-environment relations. My research spans political ecology, political-animal geography, critical ocean studies and the blue humanities. I primarily focus on the commodification of marine species and the role of ocean governance in shaping marine biodiversity conservation and the Blue Economy in Europe and the United States.
I joined the department of Geography in the School of Environment, Education and Development in October 2023 as a Simon Research Fellow. My fellowship project is entitled: 'Banking on Ocean Life? The European Blue Biobank and Promissory Ocean Futures'.
Before coming to the University of Manchester, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate on the Leverhulme Trust 'Circulatory Entanglements' project in the Department of Geography, Durham University (2020-2023).
