Overview

After obtaining a PhD in developmental psychology (2015), I managed the Culturally-appropriate Schizophrenia Psychological Education Resources (CaSPER) project, which involved co-producing an e-learning resource about schizophrenia with and for African-Caribbean families affected by psychosis. I also managed a pilot trial to test the intervention's feasibility and acceptability. Following the CaSPER study, I worked on a multisite study developing and testing Culturally-adapted Family Intervention (CaFI), a psychosocial intervention aimed for African & Caribbean families affected by psychosis.

I now have a split postdoctoral research associate role at the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). I support the day-to-day management of a research unit entitled 'Perinatal Mental Health and Parenting Research Unit' ('PRIME-RU'), a collaboration between GMMH and the University of Manchester and work on one of the unit's research studies, Digital screening for postnatal depression in new parents ('DAWN-P), as a postdoctoral researcher/project manager.

In addition, I am an experienced student supervisor. I have supervised Master's students' dissertations (MSc Clinical & Health Psychology, MEd Master of Educational Psychology) and Year Placement students.
