Biography

I qualified as an occupational therapist in 1992 and have worked in a number of physical and mental health NHS settings as an OT. I completed an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis at the University of Manchester in 2000 and practised as a cognitive behavioural therapist in primary and secondary care settings until my full time appointment with the University in 2002.

Research interests

My primary research interests include the evaluation of psychosocial interventions for the negative symptoms associated with psychosis and education/training in psychosocial interventions for staff working in mental health settings.

Teaching

Most of my teaching activity is located within the APIMH PSIp pathway although I supervise undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research dissertations across other programmes as well as PhD.
