Overview

 

Hongwei He is Chair Professor of Marketing at Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester. Professor He's main research areas are Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, Branding, Consumer Psychology and Organizational Behaviour, and Leadership. Professor He has extensive editorial experience in world leading journals. He served as a Senior Associate Editor for Journal of Business Research (2020-2023), acting as Editor-in-Chief for a number of tracks incl. Business Ethics and CSR, Strategic Management, OB/HRM. Prior to that, Professor He also served as an Associate Editor for Group & Organization Management, co-edited three special issues in journals, including the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Group & Organization Management, and Industrial Marketing Management. His work has been widely published or forthcoming in a variety of leading academic journals, including Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Annals of Tourism Research, British Journal of Management, Human Relations, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Organizational Behavior, The Leadership Quarterly, etc.. Professor He has supervised numerous projects for multinational corporations and non-profit and governmental organizations, such as Behavioural Insights Team of the Cabinet Office and Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills (UK Government). 

Professor He is a co-author of the latest Kotler's textbook of Principles of Marketing 8th European Edition.

Professor He's main research areas are Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, Branding, Consumer Psychology and Organizational Behaviour (mainly from identity, emotion, and moral perspective), and Leadership. 

Prizes and awards

Professor He has had teaching awards on a number of occasions at different schools, including Warwick Business School, Alliance Manchester Business School, and University of Strathclyde Business School. He has also won best reviewer and paper awards from international leading conferences, incl. Academy of Management Annual Conference and Academy of Marketing Annual Conference.

The KTP project with British Salt (a subsidiary of Indian-owned Tata Chemicals) supervised by Professor He has been rated outstanding by Innovator UK, won the Business Collaboration and Partnerships Award at the 2021 Educate North Awards and Finalists at the KTP Best of the Best Awards 2020. The KTP associate of this project also won the Innovate UK Future Innovator Award.
