Biography
Dr. Indranil Dutta received his Ph.D in Economics from the University of California, Riverside and M.A. (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics, India. He was a research associate of the Brooks World Poverty Institute, at Manchester, and a research fellow with the World Institute of Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) at Helsinki. He has previously taught at the University of Sheffield and the University of East Anglia.
Research interests
My research lies in the area of quantitative development economics and applied welfare economics. Broadly, I am interested in understanding issues related to well-being, deprivation and distribution. Within this, I am particularly interested in: measurement issues related to indicators of well-being and deprivation and the political economy issues associated with poverty and inequality
