Biography

Iain has worked as a Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) since 2009, and is the Honorary Professor of Paediatric Otolaryngology at the University of Manchester.

His research interests compliment his clinical sub-specialisations and include: hearing loss, cochlear implants, bone conduction implants, cleft palate (hearing and airway), childhood airway obstruction and Mucopolysaccharidosis.

His international reputation for clinical practice & research is evidenced by regular invited lectures at leading conferences, international committee membership, surgical innovations, NIHR committee roles and being the Editor-in-Chief of a journal.

He is committed to the support and development of the clinical academics of the future, as illustrated by a vibrant post-graduate research programme and the award of 2022 Doctoral Academy Outstanding Supervisor of the Year.
