Personal profile

Overview

My research relates to evaluation of health interventions and methodology for this purpose. I have a particular interest in reproductive medicine, and an international portfolio of clinical trials in this field. I have expertise in methods for assessing the authenticity of health research, including the detection of research fraud. I am currently leading the NIHR-funded INSPECT-SR (INveStigating ProblEmatic Clinical Trials in Systematic Reviews) project, which is an international collaborative effort to develop a tool for assessing the authenticity of randomised controlled trials. I lead the MSc Health Data Science unit Design and Analysis of Randomised Controlled Trials and teach on the undergraduate maths unit Medical Statistics. During my MSc, I was told that my “writting could be improved” and that I did not even understand what the topic of statistics related to, but I hope that I have made modest progress since then.
