Biography

Jafar came to the University of Manchester on the Kennedy Trust intercalated MB-PhD Inflammation Sciences programme. Prior to this Jafar had worked in journalism in the Middle East and in medical translation based in refugee camps in Jordan. After starting a medical degree at the University of Leicester, Jafar developed a keen interest in Rheumatology and Respiratory medicine which he now combines in his PhD research project focussing on the relationship between the core cellular circadian clock and the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases, namely Asthma and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
