Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology.
I am an interdisciplinary scholar working primarily in sociology, although I have a background in cultural studies. I am interested in personal and everyday life, with a focus on alone-time, relationship breakdown and intimacy.
My PhD was earned at The University of Manchester; my thesis explored sexuality in visual culture. I have published on a range of relationships and practices, including retreat-going; care; sex, intimacy and fetishism; divorce, and queer theory.
I am a member of the Morgan Centre for Research into Everyday Lives.
