Biography

I completed both my undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies at the University of Manchester where I received my PhD in 2007. Between 2008 and 2009, I was an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds before returning to Manchester in September 2009 as a Simon Research Fellow. As part of the fellowship I spent time as a visiting scholar at the Center for Working Class Studies at Youngstown State University, Ohio. In September 2012, I began a lectureship in Sociology here at Manchester.

Research interests
