Overview
My role is to undertake preliminary characterisation and classification of the new UK Antarctic meteorite collection, performing research studies and publishing and communicating project outcomes.
The Lost Meteorites of Antarctica Project is exploring new Meteorite Stranding Zones in Antarctica for meteorites that are encapsulated within ice. The first field season to Antarctica in December 2018 recovered 36 meteorites from the surface of blue ice fields in the Antarctic interior. The second field season will start in December 2019.
