Overview

I am a teaching-focused Professor of Educational Development & Digital Capability.  

From November 2021 to July 2025 I was the Academic Theme Lead for Digital skills and literacy with the University's Flexible Learning Programme team.  Supporting student and staff digital capabilities was one of the aims of the Flexible Learning strategic change programme and included in the university's 2020 strategic vision and plan.  I received a University of Manchester Teaching Excellence Award in 2023 for 'Educational Leadership' and Flexible Learning & Digital Delivery' for this work.  

My current areas of focus include:

  • supporting student and staff digital capabilities including digital wellbeing
  • promoting and enabling digital inclusion/equity for our students and within our wider community
  • enabling digital transformation
  • and the applications of playful learning within Higher Education.
