Overview

I completed my Master of Science in Physical Oceanography at the
University of Tehran, with a focus on thermohaline circulation in the
Caspian Sea, graduating as the top student in my class. After relocating to
the UK, I earned my PhD in Atmospheric Science from the University of
Manchester, where I was awarded the Dean's Scholarship. My PhD
research, titled “Mediterranean Sub-Basin Circulation and the Impact of
Climate Change,” focused on the oceanography of the Mediterranean Sea
using the ROMS model. Specifically, I investigated the variability of the
southern Adriatic gyre's dynamics, the impact of the Po River on Adriatic
hydrodynamics, and the influence of Mediterranean cyclones on basinscale
circulation.
My research interests include ocean observation and data collection,
thermohaline circulation, numerical modeling of atmosphere–ocean
interactions, the impacts of climate change on oceanic processes—
including the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC)—
overflow dynamics near straits, the influence of topography on ocean
circulation, dynamics of trapped flow along the ocean bed, mechanisms
of eddy and gyre formation at both the surface and bottom of the ocean,
remote sensing of ocean surface phenomena, and oil pollution.
