Personal profile

Overview

I am an MB-PhD in Cancer Sciences candidate at the University of Manchester, funded by Cancer Research UK. My PhD project investigates the issue of chemoresistance in ovarian cancer and is mainly supervised by Professor Stephen Taylor.

My interests include Oncology, Surgery, EDI, and leadership. I have a special interest in improving support for international students, which I work on through a non-profit for international medics in the UK called the Association of International Medics UK (AIM UK) where I am now Head of the organisation.

I am also interested in scientific communication. As an aspiring clinical academic, I write about my experiences and research/academia on my own website: https://www.jeanlingtan.com
