Research interests

My interdisciplinary research is concerned with questions of health and disease, and healthcare access and delivery within marginalised communities in both the developing and developed world. I have a particular interest in maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, older peoples health, therapeutic landscapes and social constructions of health and lifestyle in the broadest sense. My interests also cross from the biomedical model into alternative methods of healing, particularly traditional healing, herbalism and witchcraft and the potential knowledge transfer between the two. Increasingly, I have also engaged with the emerging, and highly topical, interdisciplinary literature in care and its delivery. In relation, I have a particular interest in research ethics in both a theoretical and practical sense and particularly amongst vulnerable communities.
