Jessamy Brooke
PhD Candidate, University of Manchester
Jessamy Brooke is a PhD candidate in Social Statistics at the University of Manchester. She is a Registered General Nurse, studied Contemporary Health Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University (BSc) and holds an MSc Public Health from the University of Salford. Her research interests include health, public health, and social/health inequalities.
Jess has previously worked on a project about families of a child with short bowel syndrome, presenting a poster at the Qual-World Interactive Virtual Conference 2017, University of Alberta.
She also worked as a data collection assistant on the NIHR SMART Work and Life Study, 2018.
Jess is currently working on her PhD, titled “Understanding Student Drug Use: A Pilot Study”. This is a mixed methods PhD comprising secondary data analysis of the Crime Survey for England and Wales 2018-19 secure-access drug use data, and a Delphi Expert Survey, with the aim of understanding student drug use better, and the best ways to mitigate harms.
