Personal profile

Overview

I am a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Manchester, under the supervision of Prof Suzanne Heath and Dr Penny Tinkler. Before joined in the UoM, I received my bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trade from Jinan University and completed my master’s degree in Sociology of Childhood and Children’s Rights at University College London.

My research interest lies in the family lives of parents and children, the sociology of childhood and children in China. My PhD project aims to use a qualitative research method to explore Chinese urban children’s understanding of sibling relations under the influence of open childrearing. Apart from my research focus, I am also interested in topics related to parenting practices, education inequality and social class.
