Personal profile
Overview
Jiayi Li is a PhD student at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Manchester. She is working on exploring the circular economy (CE) framework of commercial tidal current energy and evaluating commercial tidal current energy environmental impacts under this framework through life cycle assessment (LCA) with Dr Alejandro Gallego-Schmid and Dr Pablo Ouro. The project aims to provide reference data and CE framework for further improving the designs of tidal current energy in the future and might increase tidal energy competitiveness to help achieve commercialization.
Jiayi finished her master's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bath in 2023. During that time, she started interested in finding the renewables advantages to attract private investment for mitigating climate change indirectly.
