Jiayi Wang is a PhD Candidate at the Global Development Institute in the School of Education, Environment, and Development.
Her research interests concern the integration of environmental economics, energy policy, and applied econometrics to understand the dynamics of industrial green transformation and income distribution. Specifically, her current research deals with carbon emission trading schemes, green credit, energy price shocks, and their implications for industrial upgrading, regional disparities, and just transition in the coal and power sectors.
Her PhD thesis focuses on assessing how China’s carbon markets and green finance instruments promote the green transformation of industrial enterprises, and how this transformation reshapes employment structures and regional economic inequalities.
