Immunological control at the gingiva, a key oral barrier, is poorly understood. This is an oversight as loss of gingiva immune homeostasis results in Periodontitis, the most prevalent inflammatory condition of humans. Our work aims to define mechanisms safeguarding gingiva immune regulation, providing both fundamental mucosal immunology insights as well as supporting development of novel therapies for periodontitis. <br/>
