Overview

Jodie is a Research Associate at the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health (NCISH) and the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC). She completed her PhD in 2020. Her thesis examined the admission characteristics and outcomes of people discharged from Medium Secure Psychiatric Care, with a focus on mortality, readmission and offending after discharge. This study employed some of the longest follow-up ever used by an outcome study in England and Wales. Since then, Jodie has led on evaluations of new care models for healthcare services across the Midlands before becoming research lead for the Suicide in Armed Forces Veterans Study at NCISH. Jodie is currently lead researcher on establishing a data collection for NHS Staff who die by suicide. She also supports colleagues on a project seeking to develop a knowledge support tool for general practice services for people who have self-harmed.
