John is a doctoral researcher at Alliance Manchester Business School working on sustainable food system transitions, with a focus on veganism and 'alternative proteins'. He is particularly interested in the intersection of sustainability transitions and social movement studies.
John has a varied educational background, with a BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy (2010), MA in Political Economy (2011), and MSc in Food Policy (2019). Before returning to academia to study sustainable food systems, he worked in research and consultancy roles in the City of London on a wide range of post-financial crisis regulatory reform issues.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
