Personal profile

Research interests

I work with Prof. Cliona Kirwan on her research into the symbiotic relationship between cancer and clotting. Whilst cancer seems to promote clotting, the clotting system helps cancer grow and spread. This therefore provides the potential to treat cancer through targeting the clotting system.

I am based at the Manchester Cancer Research Centre where I study systemic and tissue biomarkers of hypercoagulability and cancer, as well as cancer stem cells and the tumour microenvironment. My work focuses on breast and colorectal cancer through the studies WiSDen, CHAMPion, T-POETIC and TuFClot as well as the currently recruiting TIP Trial.
