Biography
I joined Alliance Manchester Business School in 2022 as a Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance Division, having previously held an academic position at the University of Glasgow. I received my PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2020.
My work critiques the often assumed power of accounting to shape and change organisations and society, most recently by studying the impact of environmental accounting and counter accounts. My research is underpinned by critical theory and has two clear streams: qualitative empirical examinations of practice and essays driven by readings in literature and philosophy.
My research has been published, or is forthcoming, in journals such as The Accounting Review, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Organization Studies and Public Administration, among others. I serve as an ad hoc reviewer for journals including Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Journal of Business Ethics, Organization Studies, and The Accounting Review. I am an Associate Editor of Interdisciplinary Accounting Review.
