Personal profile
Overview
PhD student doing interdisciplinary research between Computer Science and Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics. Supervised by Dr. Jonathan Shapiro (Computer Science) and Prof. Anna Scaife (Astrophysics).
My research focuses on applying machine learning techniques to the field of cosmic magnetism in radio astronomy. This is especially important in the age of big data astrophysics, which both enable and necessitates novel methods to be developed. My research covers deep learning approaches (e.g. with convolutional neural networks) for extracting information from polarisation observations, with focus on the issues of multi-class imbalance, and learning from unlabelled datasets.
