Mr
Joshua is a Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy). He is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Politics (POLI) and University College of Interdisciplinary Learning (UCIL) at the University of Manchester.
He has taught both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PGT) students, including on the following modules:
- POLI10202 Introduction to Comparative Politics (UG)
- UCIL33501 Climate Change and Society (UG)
- UCIL20411 Creating a Sustainable World: 21st Century Challenges and the Sustainable Development Goals (UG)
- UCIL60312 Creating a Sustainable World: Interdisciplinary Applications of the Sustainable Development Goals (PGT)
Joshua is also the module leader for Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water on UCIL20411 and UCIL60312. The modules are convened by Dr Jen O’Brien and won Outstanding Teaching Innovation in Social Responsibility at the 2021 University of Manchester Making a Difference Awards.
Joshua is a PhD Candidate in Politics and International Relations at the University of Manchester, specialising in environmental politics, development studies and public policy.
His PhD analyses governance transformations to sustainability for biodiversity conservation, climate change and sustainable development with a focus on coral reefs. His research is supervised by Dr Carl Death and Dr Paul Tobin.
Joshua is also a researcher on the ‘Contemporary Crises and Net Zero Transitions: COVID-19, Energy and Ukraine’ project in collaboration with the University of Melbourne and the University of Toronto.
He is a Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy), a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Manchester, and a Widening Participation Fellow.
Joshua has been a Visiting Research Fellow at Stockholm University, Sweden as part of the Turing Scheme.
He has also undertaken a professional placement as an Assistant Policy Analyst at the House of Commons, UK.
